A tool ONLY for STUDY PERSONNEL of the POISE-3 Trial. A username and password are required to unlock this app. They can be gained from the POISE-3 management.
Easily generate participant specific medication plans for the blood pressure management arm of the POISE-3 Trial. This app negotiates the complex hypotension avoidance strategy algorithm. Search for the participant’s medications by generic or trade names from a database of 379 antihypertensive medications. The app knows the drug class of each medication and happily deals with combination medications.
The generated plan includes simple instructions for how to manage each of the participant’s medications on the morning of the surgery, intraoperatively and postoperatively for 2 days. Combination medications are split when necessary to accurately adhere to the hypotension avoidance strategy algorithm.
Email the plan to keep a record.
Criteria checklists are included for the POISE-3 Trial and the BP management arm.
Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this app but the user retains responsibility for checking that generated plans are correct and appropriate for their participants.
The PeriOperative ISchemic Evaluation-3 Trial is a large, multicentre, international, randomised control trial of trade amid acid (TXA) versus placebo and, using a partial factorial design, of a perioperative hypotension-avoidance versus hypertension-avoidance strategy. The principal investigator is Dr PJ Devereaux and the project officer is Maura Marcucci, both from the Population Health Research Institute (Canada).
